I recorded both the drums and percussion for Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach”. That was back in 1985 at Channel Recording Studios in Los Angeles. We spent time shaping that groove, the heartbeat of the song, making sure every hit and every accent carried the emotion of the story. It ended up on her True Blue album in 1986 and became one of her biggest hits. I still remember that session like it was yesterday… the focus, the creativity, and the feeling that we were capturing something truly special.
