I understand that the sargassum is mostly unpredictable. But... If we were planning travel to Sandals Barbados and our priority was to avoid seaweed, what months would you recommend we travel, excluding December and January?

I planned a trip to Barbados for the white sand beaches and turquoise waters advertised on Sandals website. Shame on Sandals for not being honest and compensating their customers for the condition of the beach.

Feb 26, 2024 · We were at Barbados during a moderate to high sargassum. Sandals had people clearing the beach every morning at great lengths and they got rid of just about all of it on the beach every day. Must have had at least 8 guys with wheel barrows full by 9am.

It is completely unpredictable. The most affected beaches are on East coast and South East so the Beach at Sandals can definitely be hit badly. I have been in March and it was quite bad one week and ok the next.

Mar 5, 2023 · Maxine jumping over some sargassum seaweed on Crane Beach in Barbados Well, I’m not an expert but I have walked in it and swam in waters that had it, and was fine albeit quite grossed out. The seaweed has trapped sea creatures that are dying in it and also attracts sand flies which can carry diseases so it should be avoided.

Sandals is on a lovely beach , the ocean is generally quiet wavy but they have built a barrier which forms a calm area behind it for swimming. Regarding the sargassum I’m afraid that’s down to luck , one week it’s there the next it’s gone. 2. Re: Sandals Barbados. Fabulous resort, whichever one you choose.

Zero seaweed on Sandals beach and in the water. Not much on shore to the left of the breakwater; but the water there was BROWN with it. They clear it if it does start to accumulate - not to worry.
