Doctor Doom (Dr. Victor von Doom) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in The Fantastic Four #5 (July 1962).

Equal parts super-genius and megalomaniac, Victor von Doom better answers to the self-proclaimed moniker of Doctor Doom, the despotic ruler of the Eastern European nation of Latveria. Victor was born in a Romani camp, the son of a witch named Cynthia, who died after making a deal with the demon Mephisto.

The egostical and maniacal Dr. Doom uses his brilliant scientific mind to augment his own power and quest for control.
