Aug 29, 2023 · This is just me being hopeful, but I think FSR3 and fluid motion frames from AMD will make Nvidia rethink their approach to DLSS and making it exclusive to one series of cards. Even DLSS 3.5 works on rtx 2000 and 3000 series cards. I think 4.0 will push for an improvement on image quality rather than higher fps/lower latency.
Jensen Huang recently Hinted what DLSS 4 could bring.

Sep 21, 2023 · So the 40 series has the 3.0 and then the 3.5 has the ray tracing dlss + ray reconstruction so in theory it’s meant for cards that are supposed to actually use such a feature which even tho it works on 2060 as well, i doubt anyone would turn on 3.5 because ray tracing would cripple such a card when compared to it being used helped by DLSS 2.0

It has ray reconstruction, you can enable it with r.NGX.DLSS.DenoiserMode=1. They don’t specifically mention this as a feature which I find strange, however an Nvidia representative confirmed it in a thread on their developer forums and I can confirm it has the effect you would expect from ray reconstruction.

Mar 25, 2023 · You can manually downlaod the DLSS 2.5.1 dll and drop it into your diablo 4 folder. It will overwrite the 2.4.0 dll. Im playing max everything, 1440p, DLSS Quality. With 2.4 my GPU was capped at 85 degrees and id get FPS dips from 200 down to 170 and it would cause stutters. With 2.5.1 my fps is hard locked at 200, my GPU never goes above 73 ...

DLSS, especially the latest version definitely stomps FSR, but FSR 3.0 isnt THAT bad. It actually perfectly acceptable, IMO, if DLSS isn't available, and even offers somewhat close performance gains at close levels of fidelity. If i was a dev, I'd absolutely want as many people as possible playing my game at the highest level of detail possible.
Are the current DLSS / Frame-gen features still being worked on?
For DLSS in particular, this appears to be another quiet period where they haven't released a whole lot of new DLSS binaries or new features, so they're probably neck deep in working on something. Their latest release was the new NVIDIA App beta which is probably going to take the front seat for a while so that the DLSS / etc team and work on ...

Dec 27, 2023 · Whenever the DLSS option is switched on, AA options are no longer available but with ultra settings, DLSS does a good job of providing smooth frames (240 fps) and high-quality images. After a while into the game, the DLSS effects seem to disappear. This is most visible in the jagged edges of the car's spoilers, taillights etc.
