Mar 15, 2024 · Ugly guns need love too! A beat up Blue Sky Imports Garand, cosmoline soaked M24/47, a sporterized jungle carbine are some of mine. The four that still have bayonet lugs are fearsome weapons even without ammo! My 91/30 is arsenal refinished and pretty. My ancient AR-15A1 (with later round handguards) ain't good looking but it shoots very well.

Jul 29, 2021 · Back then, I would've agreed that the SRH was just ugly and left it at that. Enter the .480 Ruger. I didn't care for the platform but desperately wanted to play with the cartridge so I got one. Once I started actually using the thing, it stopped being ugly. The grips were far more comfortable than a S&W, the gun was pleasant to shoot and accurate.

Jun 9, 2024 · I want to love lever guns, but I just don't see the point in spending money on one. And this one lacks the aesthetics and nostalgia of traditional lever guns. As others have said, the only practical value is if local laws prohibit owning an AR, but you want to leverage (pun intended) the availability of AR parts and 556 ammo.

Jan 1, 2014 · For many people - "functionality" is more important than "aesthetics" - especially with working guns that might get beat up a bit. Savage provides that niche with affordable guns that shoot well but are not "safe queens". They also work well as "starter guns" for newbies who don't have a lot to spend.
