Texola is a town in Beckham County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 43 at the time of the 2020 census, [4] an increase over the 36 figure from the 2010 census. The History of Texola dates back to the early 1900s. Before being named Texola, the town site had been called Texokla and Texoma.

Texola was featured in their list of "America's Coolest Ghost Towns" and since most people don't know the story behind this place, I decided to feature it.

Texola is a small town located in Beckham County, near the western edge of Oklahoma, adjacent to the Texas state line. It lies along historic U.S. Route 66, approximately 15 miles west of Erick and roughly 125 miles west of Oklahoma City.

Texola was originally located in northern Greer County before Beckham County was created at 1907 statehood. The community developed along the Choctaw, Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad line (later owned by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway), which was constructed through the area in 1902.
