Nestled in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia and located at the trailhead for the Spearhead Trails Coal Canyon ATV/OHV/Mountain Bike Trail, we are a campground with cabins, full hook-up pull-through RV sites and tent sites.

The 7,500-square-foot visitor center at Southern Gap is your place! Located at the trailhead to Spearhead Trails Coal Canyon Trail at 1124 Chipping Sparrow Road, Grundy, not far from the SGOA barn and the SGOA cabins and campground, t he Southern Gap Visitor Center officially opened in July 2019.

Cabins, RV Pull-Through Sites and Campground Rentals. All stays require a two-night minimum and are for occupancy of four. Additional occupants, add $10 each. Our standard cabins, which sleep 7-10, have a nightly rate of $135, Sunday-Wednesday; $160, Thursday-Saturday; or $175, holidays. Call the office for weekly or monthly rates and availability.

Dec 15, 2024 · The trails and parking area are only open during daylight hours but camping with direct trail access can be found next door at Southern Gap Outdoor Adventure. This new campground offers fully furnished cabins, RV hookups, tent sites, restroom and laundry facilities.
