Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) is conducting a pilot program in Section 60 to address families’ desires to leave mementos at their loved one’s gravesite. The Superintendent continues to ask visitors not to leave items at gravesites that present a safety or health concern.
A Note about Section 60 Mementos - Arlington National Cemetery
All items left at any gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery are considered abandoned property. In accordance with Army policy, ANC is maintaining the dignity and standards of a National Cemetery by removing items, to include those affixed to headstones, in Section 60.
