Apr 6, 2022 · Proposed by Homeschool-Winner on Reddit, the theory states that Wesley didn't poison either glass of wine. Instead, he poisoned Vizzini when the latter inhaled the powder. It still would have gotten into his system and killed him either way. If that was the case, Wesley simply had to stall long enough for Vizzini to keel over.

Westley, under the guise of the Dread Pirate Roberts, when challenging Vizzini to a battle of wits presents him with iocaine powder. He seemingly poisons one of two wine goblets with iocaine, and challenges Vizzini to figure out which one is poisoned.

Sep 21, 2022 · Indeed, Westley has doped both glasses with the potent yet entirely fictional poison iocane. It has no odor, no taste, and dissolves instantly when poured into a liquid. Worst of all, it is almost immediately fatal at the right dosage.
