The districts operate three patrol shifts (days, evenings, and midnights) providing 24-hour police coverage, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to the residents and visitors of Prince William County.

Welcome to the Police Online Reporting System. This system allows police reports to be submitted at any time for incidents that occurred within Prince William County. All case statuses are classified as INACTIVE, meaning it is NOT assigned to a detective for further investigation.

The Public Information Office serves as the direct link between the Prince William County community and the Police Department through coordination with local news media and through multimedia and social media platforms.

The Prince William County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with elected leaders, staff and citizens, provides a safe and secure Judicial Complex. Other mandates include service of all civil process, including subpoenas, levies, seizures, and evictions; internal affairs; training; and timely transport for prisoners and person in crisis.
