Peace on earth will come, not by human efforts, but by means of God’s Kingdom, a heavenly government ruled by Christ Jesus. Notice how the Bible teaches us about this wonderful hope. God will make “wars to cease to the extremity of the earth,” fulfilling his promise to bring “peace on earth to those with whom he is pleased!”—

Lasting Peace on Earth! Bible writers often used the word “earth” to refer to humanity. Genesis 11:1 , for example, states that “all the earth,” the humans alive at that time, spoke the same language.

Wicked people will be removed from the earth, allowing good people to “find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” — Psalm 37:10, 11 . God will bring all wars to an end.

It opened the way for God to accomplish his grand purpose of filling the earth with righteous and peace-loving humans.—Genesis 1:28. “On earth peace.” This peace involves much more than just the absence of war. It includes the peace, or inner calm, that is only possible when a person has Jehovah’s approval.
