The M1 carbine is modeled after the last production model that Inland manufactured in 1945 and features a type 3 bayonet lug / barrel band, adjustable rear sights, push button safety, round bolt, "low wood" walnut stock, and a 15-round magazine.

Inland manufactured over 2,630,000 carbines, more than three times any of the other manufacturers. They were the only company to manufacture the folding stock Model M1A1 Carbine and one of only two companies to manufacture the select-fire Model M2 Carbine. After WWII Inland returned to manufacturing automotive parts for GM.

The M1 1944 carbines feature many of the same characteristics of the original Inland Carbines and are manufactured in the USA! The 1944 M1 carbine has the same features as the 1945 M1 carbine but with a Type 2 barrel band and 10-round magazine.

Coming in at just over five pounds, the gun blows away nearly every other semiautomatic centerfire rifle. In theory, this makes for an excellent pack gun, or for teaching weaker shooters.
