I open an image in GIMP with the purpose of making the background transparent. The first thing I do is Add Alpha Channel. I proceed to remove the background. Once I’m done with that, I export as PNG. Fixed it after playing around in Gimp for a bit. Open the image in Gimp. Press "R" or "CTRL + A" to select your image. Right click on the image, select: FX-Foundry -> Image Effects -> "Resize Image to Layers...". Enter a numeric value for: Border Size (Pixels), I used 45. Select "OK" to apply the changes and press CTRL + E to export the image.
