FF17 might not come out until around 2030 and while FFXIV is doing great now we'll likely have 8 expansions by the time 17 releases, double what we have now. Plenty of time to still enjoy FFXIV until then. I imagine the next MMO will make FFXIV feel like FFXI does now going back. Whenever they can get it ready I'll happily play it.

Oct 9, 2020 · So I will give them a bigger buffer. I expect the next MMO development to start once FF16 is wrapped up. They will do one more single player FF17, wrap up Part 2 of FF7 Remake, and then start hyping up FF18 as the next MMO, then after that FF7 Part 3 will get the attention.

Apr 11, 2021 · Honestly? Since CBU 1 will be busy with the Remake and the KH series (among other projects) and CBU IV is for smaller games, FF XVII will likely be under either CBU II or CBU III.

Because After FF11 FF12 came out, then FF13, and FF13 had a sequel, a couple actually, and then finally FF14 came out. Now the thing is FF15 had a bunch of delays soooo... Maybe that delay removes FF13's sequels out of the equation, and makes FF17 the most obvious choice for a new MMO in the franchise, but if it doesn't FF18 it is.

Jun 1, 2023 · Yes, the meaning being that literally anything can happen with FF17. And as a side thought, turn-based would be easier if it were pixel-based. That is NOT the same as "go back to turn-based if we go back to pixels". You have grasped what he said, but your title is NOT the same. Turn-based is not reliant on pixels.
