Flexible forward Darwin Nunez was added to Liverpool FC's potent array of attacking options when he joined in the summer of 2022. Nunez arrived at Anfield from Benfica, for whom he scored 48 goals in 85 appearances across two successful seasons.

Darwin Núñez signed for Liverpool FC from Portuguese side Benfica for a fee that could reach $109m (£86m/€100m). Despite regular criticism, he scored 15 times during his first season at Anfield and became the first player in Europe's top five leagues to reach 10 non-penalty goals and assists in 2023/24.
