A potable water ground storage tank with a 4 million gallon capacity is located on site. Thanks to its site elevation all the water produced by the Jack F. Neel Water Treatment Plant flows to Albemarle by gravity, requiring no pumping.

The City operates a large water and sewer system that includes two water plants and one wastewater treatment plant. The water plants have a combined capacity of 16.5 MGD, with approximately fifty percent of this capacity available for future growth.
