The role of risk management is to protect and conserve the human, property and financial resources of the University of Nebraska at Kearney. To this end the University uses a variety of methods to manage risk, including self-insurance and commercial insurance.

We process insurance claims for United Healthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) policy holders. Fees are covered at 100% for students with the UHCSR student insurance plan offered by UNK. Student Health is a campus medical clinic that offers medical care to currently enrolled students.

Long-Term Disability Insurance. Long-term disability insurance (LTD) provides monthly benefits if an employee becomes ill or injured and is unable to work. Information on filing an LTD claim is available here.

Health Insurance: The University offers a student health insurance plan that is available for students who are enrolled in six or more credit hours in a degree-seeking program. Graduate students are eligible if registered for at least one credit hour in a degree-seeking program.
