The SLICC criteria for SLE classification requires: 1) Fulfillment of at least four criteria, with at least one clinical criterion AND one immunologic criterion OR 2) Lupus nephritis as the sole clinical criterion in the presence of ANA or anti-dsDNA antibodies.

SLICC is dedicated to generating new knowledge in the field of lupus, and translating these basic and clinical research discoveries into better health care practices and policies to help provide a healthier future for people diagnosed with lupus.

Jul 29, 2016 · These revised SLICC lupus criteria have been accepted by the European Medicines Agency, the US Food and Drug Administration and NHS England as being suitable for the inclusion of patients in clinical trials and in the commissioning policy for rituximab.

The SLICC/ACR Damage Index has been widely used and is accepted as the standard as an outcome measures for use in therapeutic trials and prognosis studies.

Clinically distinct NP events attributed to lupus were found to be associated to anti-P antibodies and the Lupus anticoagulant (LAC). On follow up, these antibodies were associated with an increased risk of intracranial thrombosis and lupus psychosis, respectively.

Professor Doria has long-standing experience of the clinical management of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other connective tissue diseases.

The SLICC group has made a significant commitment to building the world’s largest biorepository of DNA, plasma and serum on an extremely well phenotyped inception cohort of SLE patients.
