Dec 25, 2024 · So much so that one of the secondary characters, Poppa Henry, was recast halfway through production. The Good Dinosaur follows a charming dinosaur named Arlo. The film exists in an alternate universe where dinosaurs and humans live in harmony together. One day, Arlo gets washed up and travels downstream far away from his family.

Henry attempts to give Arlo a sense of purpose by putting him in charge of guarding their silo, and helps him set a trap. It captures a feral caveboy, but Arlo cannot bring himself to kill him, and sets him free. Disappointed and a little mad, Henry takes Arlo to track the caveboy into Joa ravine.
