Pierre Lynn de Lappe (October 5, 1935 [1] – March 21, 2016 [2]), also known as Peter Brown, was an American actor. He portrayed Deputy Johnny McKay opposite John Russell as Marshal Dan Troop in the 1958 to 1962 ABC - Warner Brothers western television series Lawman and Texas Ranger Chad Cooper on NBC 's Laredo from 1965 to 1967.

Laredo, TX, was the operational base from where stern and usually exasperated Captain Edward Parmalee (Phil Carey) gave Rangers Reese Bennett (Neville Brand), Chad Cooper (Peter Brown) and Joe Riley (William Smith) their assignments.

While if you are much under age 60 you may not remember him, I wanted to note that actor Peter Brown passed away on March 21, 2016 at age 80. Brown's acting prime was in the later 1950s through the 1960s. He got his big break in story book fashion, attending to Jack Warner's car at a service station, with Warner later arranging a screen test.

On Tuesday nights, even with “Sugarfoot”/“Bronco”, “Wyatt Earp” and “Rifleman” lead-ins, all the timeslot/mustache/cast changes had pretty well doomed “Colt .45”. Additionally, it was now battling for ratings opposite “Arthur Murray” in color on NBC and “Red Skelton” on CBS.
