Agreed Jurassic Park novel is definitely horror, the gruesome deaths, the violence, the grim science-fiction philosophy make it into something more than just a sci-fi thriller.

It should be no secret that the book differs heavily from the films and is way darker, more willing to depict animal violence, and delve into dark themes. The scariest thing for me is the beginning chapters. The victim of the raptor mauling and the infant killing compies are the standout examples I feel of the horror this book has.
