Feb 17, 2018 · Picked up a nice "correct" IHC garand today at the gunshow.All parts seem to be correct for this late rifle ser. no 51263xx.The stock looks shiney and was probably varnished.Plan on stripping it and go with a couple coats of BLO.There are 4 numbers in stock channel but are not stamped more of a marking pen,looks original.Is the cartouch and stock configuration correct?Any info appreciated!

Apr 5, 2012 · There are a few things that bother me after all the years of handling and doing Data for the M1 Garand wood. First the IHC Indent as it is called. No such thing as Earlier Garand manufactures had it. It isn't that there was no Indent but that it cannot be called The IHC Indent. Next is that All Winchesters had a V-notch and Arched underside.
