Taking inspiration from del Toro’s extraordinary imagination, At Home with Monsters reveals his creative process through his personal collection of art, artefacts, books, and props, all culled from Bleak House, del Toro’s creative haven located in Los Angeles.

Inspired by the extraordinary imagination of Guillermo del Toro, the Mexico-born, Los Angeles– based writer and director of Pan’s Labyrinth and other films, the exhibition Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters showcases the many artworks, objects, and stories that inspire the filmmaker’s work.

Jan 1, 2019 · del Toro's cave troll is large lumbering and fleshy. He looks like he could be in the pit at Jabba's palace or in the halls of Hogwarts. There's a chimera effect in his design, taking elements from ogres, apes, and elephants to give us the monster we see in the film.
