Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to an “immediate and unconditional ceasefire” beginning at midnight local time (12 p.m. ET Monday) , Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said in a statement on Monday.

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to a ceasefire following days of border clashes which claimed dozens of lives and displaced nearly 300,000 people.

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (Reuters) -The leaders of Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to end their border clashes, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Monday, following talks in Malaysia between the two Southeast Asian neighbours.
