I think it's one of the best movies ever made. And my concern is not about Jaws the movie or any other shark movie. It's in people that can't tell reality from fiction. I think we should be more concerned about those folk.

Hollywood celebrated 50th anniversary of 'Jaws,' which instilled terror in the public about sharks, especially in beach-going Florida.
"It’s Shark Week? Not here! No salt, no sharks, no problem," the Michigan Department of Natural Resources said on Facebook. "Jokes aside, we don’t have sharks — but we do have a large fish that’s just as cool (OK, maybe we’re a bit biased): the lake sturgeon. This week, it’s all sturgeon, all the time."

According to a press release, Shark Week 2025 will include 20 hours of new specials debuting Sunday, July 20, through Saturday, July 26. The first program up is Dancing with Sharks, which involves "an unprecedented underwater dance competition between expert divers and their shark partners," per Discovery.
Now a bonanza of viewership, the 37-year-old event that launched as a meager presentation of 10 basic programs and has also courted detractors over the years.
