A spring filled with heavy-hitting weather is ratcheting up once more, as forecasters are warning residents across parts of Texas of "a potentially significant severe threat" Sunday evening. The nasty weather was already moving across North Texas on Sunday morning.

A First Alert Weather Day is in effect Sunday for heat index values in the triple digits, as well as a significant threat for large hail, tornadoes and destructive winds Sunday night. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for much of North and Central Texas until 9 p.

A severe storm with damaging winds, hail, and tornado risk is expected in North Texas Sunday night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
