Russia on Thursday rejected the idea of NATO countries sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire in the war with Russia, saying such a move would threaten to cause an "uncontrollable escalation".

Donald Trump said he would impose high tariffs and further sanctions on Russia if it continued its "ridiculous war".

In a post to Truth Social, President Trump threatened to hit Russia with tariffs if Vladimir Putin refuses to make a deal on the Ukraine war.
