Federal regulators say Amazon has agreed to pay a historic sum to resolve their allegations that its web designs manipulated millions of people into paying for Prime subscriptions, which were also purposefully hard to cancel.
The FTC charged that Amazon used manipulative interface designs to nudge users into Prime memberships without informed consent. Amazon must also overhaul its Prime sign-up and cancellation processes.

Amazon Prime members in the United States can now receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited. You can either be a new member of the subscription service or a prior member whose subscription has lapsed. This is a part of an early Prime Day deal, and it officially kicks up in the first week of October.
