PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles always knew what they had in Tanner McKee. If McKee didn't validate his development as a quarterback in the regular season finale against the New York Giants last year, he backed up what the Eagles believed in Thursday's preseason opener.

It's worth noting that Philadelphia traded last year's second-string quarterback, Kenny Pickett, to the Cleveland Browns for quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a fifth-round pick. In the 2025 NFL Draft, they took Syracuse passer Kyle McCord in Round 6. Both made cameos in Thursday's 34-27 win, although neither left much of an impression.
