Canadians Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a blowout victory in Game 5 to punch their Finals tickets Wednesday night

Lu Dort and the Thunder’s D rattled the Wolves once again, taking Game 2 of the Western Conference finals 118-103 Thursday night in Oklahoma City.

The NBA announced that Thunder guard Lu Dort has been named to the 2024-25 NBA All-Defensive First Team. Dort is joined by Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley, Draymond Green, Dyson Daniels and Amen Thompson while teammate Jalen Williams was named to the second team.

The Thunder now have an important 3-2 series lead. Two straight wins over the Nuggets put them ahead in this classic back-and-forth series with memorable finishes. The first seed will now have two chances to clinch the Round 2 series and move on to the Western Conference Finals.

Less than a day after Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was announced as the 2024-25 NBA MVP, Lu Dort and Jalen Williams also received honors. Dort was named to the All-Defensive First Team and Williams to the All-Defensive Second Team.

OK, technically, he at least ran up the court. But once he reached his station on the wing, he just sort of hung out. He didn't run around a screen or set one himself. He didn't even rotate into an open position. He just walked down the court and waited for the MVP to do his thing.
