Deleted scenes, song selections, outtakes and loads more besides join the 4K HDR transfer of Disney’s latest animated hit.

The Lion King Digital, 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates for its latest musical prequel, which hails from acclaimed filmmaker Barry Jenkins. This comes after over a month since the movie had its theatrical debut.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, of Hamilton fame and many other fantastic musical works, brought Disney fans a wonderful new original soundtrack for Mufasa: The Lion King. Many fans have said that this soundtrack is their favorite Disney original soundtrack in years!

Mufasa is coming home. Disney has announced the digital and physical media release of Mufasa: The Lion King, the 2024 origin story of the fan-favorite character.

Mufasa: The Lion King doesn't just introduce Taka, who we have known as Scar over the years, but new music too.

While it looked like 'One of Them Days' would prevail at the holiday weekend box office, Disney's 'Mufasa: The Lion King' ended up reigning over the competition.

The music didn’t quite match the intensity or nostalgia which the original, iconic soundtrack evoked. As I left the theater, I didn’t find any particular songs meaningful or memorable. I believe that the music was a primary cause of poor reviews.

The Lion King" on Monday. The prequel first comes to digital video-on-demand Feb. 18, then DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD April 1.

Now, Disney+ is preparing to make a massive expansion of its Lion King collection by adding not just a new movie but a live concert event celebrating the original film as well. It's definitely great to be the king.
