According to Bloomberg, Microsoft’s Stockholm-based King division, famous for Candy Crush, is laying off 10 percent of its staff, representing roughly 200 jobs. While some other European gaming offices are also cutting, US units are reportedly being informed later Wednesday.

Microsoft is cutting more than 9,000 jobs -- 4% of its global workforce -- and as a result, Everwild and the Perfect Dark reboot have been put out to pasture.

Microsoft Gaming has carried out several rounds of job cuts of various sizes since its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, including laying off around 1,900 employees across Xbox Game Studios and Activision Blizzard in early 2024.
