Marlins erupt for 6 in 5th to sink Mets
Heriberto Hernandez lofted a game-tying triple, and pinch-hitter Connor Norby smashed a homer that capped a six-run fifth inning as the host Miami Marlins rallied to beat the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night.
The Mets threatened in the eighth after Alcantara (11-12) left the game, loading the bases on left-hander Cade Gibson. The Fish brought in closer Tyler Phillips, and the Mets sent out Mark Vientos to pinch-hit for Mauricio.
At loanDepot park on Friday, the New York Mets (82-77) meet the Miami Marlins (77-82), fellow members of the NL East, at 7:10 p.m. ET.
