Former long-time Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone believes that record world champion Lewis Hamilton should consider retirement in the wake of poor results. Hamilton, 40, has had a difficult start at Ferrari after 12 years at Mercedes where he won six of his record-tying seven world titles.

Lewis Hamilton’s age is “the elephant in the room” when it comes to his challenging start to life at Ferrari in the F1 2025 season. That is the opinion of Sky F1 pundit and Mercedes simulator driver Anthony Davidson, who believes Hamilton “has never been the same driver” since F1’s ground-effect rules were introduced in 2022.
