KKR clinches backing from Spectris for £4.1bn higher bid - Spectris had previously agreed a deal with US investment firm Advent International, which valued the firm at about £3.8 billion.
Advent International said it increased its takeover bid for precision-measurement company Spectris to 4.2 billion pounds ($5.55 billion).
Spectris remains in discussions with Advent International, following an offer valuing the shares at £37.63 each. The total equity valuation is £3.7 billion ($5 billion; €4.3 billion).
