The James Beard Awards named no winners in Massachusetts Monday night. But the ceremony did give a shoutout to Sullivan's Castle Island, which was named an America's Classics winner in February. Why it matters: It's the biggest night in the restaurant business.

Unfortunately, the three Greater Boston restaurant and chef award nominees for 2025— Sarma’s Cassie Piuma for Outstanding Chef, Merai for Best New Bar, and Urban Hearth’s Erin Miller for Best Chef: Northeast—didn’t win this year.

It was an otherwise chilly night for New England at the Oscars of the food world, despite an impressive array of local finalists.
