Over 110 million individuals have taken a holy dip in the sacred waters of Prayagraj within the first 14 days alone

More than 10 million devout Hindus seeking absolution from their sins took a dip in holy waters in northern India during a span of four hours on Wednesday, authorities said, as they braced for millions more to swarm the site of the Kumbh Mela.

More than two crore devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Wednesday to take a holy dip on the auspicious occasion of Maghi Purnima during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. The sacred bath, which began early in the morning, was accompanied by heightened security measures and elaborate arrangements by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Amid heightened security measures, more than two crore devotees took a dip in the Sangam till 6 pm on Wednesday on the occasion of Maghi Purnima during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela here.

PAC, paramilitary forces, ATS, STF, and NSG commandos have been deployed as part of the comprehensive security measures to ensure smooth departure of the devotees after the Maghi Purnima snan.
