Oscar-winning actor, Russell Crowe has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Highlander reboot, taking on a legendary role alongside Henry Cavill in the revival of the cult classic.

We can now proudly say we know a third thing, as Variety reports that Russell Crowe will also star in the film, taking on a mentor role to Cavill’s character. That drops Crowe into the same position that Sean Connery occupied in the original Highlander,

Russell Crowe will instruct Henry Cavill in the ways of the immortals in the remake of “Highlander.” The Oscar-winner will play Cavill’s mentor in a variation on the part played by Sean Connery in the 1986 original.
