Thousands of people lined the streets of Grand Haven, sporting their red, white and blue, candy bags in hand and squirt guns at the ready. The Fourth of July may have come and gone, but the lakeshore town still had plenty reason to celebrate: the annual Coast Guard Festival Grand Parade.

The Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival unexpectedly included an actual water rescue Tuesday of a 97-year-old man.

People lined the Grand Haven waterfront to watch Coast Guard cutters sail into the harbor during this year's Parade of Ships, even after one vessel had to dock early due to mechanical problems.
