California is reaping the benefits of litigation against the Trump administration, according to top Democrats.

“The Assembly won’t stand by while our state is targeted. We will fight fire with fire,” said Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, D-Hollister, in a statement. “Our voters must be empowered to push back. California has never backed down — and we won’t start now. We will always protect our power and defend our democracy.”
