The Detroit Tigers don’t have to spend to improve their bullpen, at least not much before MLB's July 31 trade deadline.

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have signed veteran right-hander Tanner Rainey to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Toledo. Rainey, 32, made 11 appearances for the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier this season. More recently, he had been pitching for their Triple-A affiliate in Indianapolis.
