The 43rd Connecticut Flower & Garden Show is opening this Thursday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, according to a statement.

That included one hotel with 300 to 500 rooms near the convention center and the rest within one-mile of the venue. The construction, the study recommended, should take place over 15 years.

Publicly financed at a cost of $230 million, the convention center is as long as three football fields. It offers 40,000 square feet of ballroom space and 25,000 square feet of meeting areas.
