Chandrayaan-1 was launched on 22 October by from India’s spaceport at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota. The launcher placed the spacecraft in an elliptical orbit around Earth.

The Chandrayaan-1 X-ray Spectrometer (C1XS) was first activated November 23, and its commissioning is in progress. The Sub-keV Atom Reflecting Analyzer (SARA) will be commissioned from December 7-10.
