New York weather: Hurricane Humberto strengthens to Category 4 storm as US states brace for impact
Hurricane Humberto has strengthened to a Category 4 storm as it continues its relentless path across the Atlantic. Although forecasters have said it will likely veer away before making landfall, another tropical weather system nearby has many worried.
Humberto is about 465 miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving slowly toward the northwest. It is expected to strengthen substantially over the weekend to become a major hurricane, the Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
