Drone attacks in the early hours of Thursday triggered a fire at the independent Afipsky refinery in southern Russia, according to regional emergency services.

According to the General Staff, the refinery processes 6.25 million metric tons of crude oil per year, which accounts for 2.1% of Russia’s total oil refining capacity. The drone strike triggered a fire at the refinery’s gas and gas condensate processing unit.
