SPRINGDALE, Washington County — A section of Kolob Canyons Road, a popular route in Zion National Park that rangers closed amid severe road damage earlier this year, finally reopened this week.

SPRINGDALE, Utah (KUTV) — A scenic road in Zion National Park has been reopened after it was partially closed for nearly eight months because of damage caused by a landslide.

The road to Zion Canyon was not damaged, and visitors could still access Zion Canyon using the park’s shuttle system. Current conditions are available on the Zion National Park website.

The road was reopened around 5 p.m., according to a tweet from Zion National Park. After initially clearing the road, National Park Service staff noticed other loose rocks above the right of way.
