Nothing says love like the sweet, warm scent of homemade waffles wafting from the kitchen — and these red-velvet waffles with cream cheese glaze taste like an extra helping of love!
Cheddar cheese – Buy the block of cheese and shred it yourself. A block of cheese doesn’t have the preservatives that pre-shredded, bagged cheese does, so it will melt better.
Stir in the chives, cheese and ham. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter on the waffle iron and cook until done. This will be different for each waffle iron but should be about 5 minutes.
Repeat with remaining batter. (You should get 8 waffles.) To keep waffles crisp, transfer them to a 250-degree oven after you pull them out of the iron. You also can crisp them up in a toaster.
