The Terrace Plaza Hotel on a key block in downtown Cincinnati will reopen in 2026 as apartments geared toward young professionals. Birkla promised to restore the iconic restaurant.

Birkla bought the former Terrace Plaza Hotel in September and partnered with Cincinnati architecture firm Reztark Design Studio to re-imagine the 18-story building.

The Terrace Plaza Hotel's Gourmet Room was a fine-dining hotspot set inside a silver circular structure atop the building. It operated there for 44 years.

And speaking of relaxation, the hotel will boast an impressive 30,000-square-foot spa with a gym and an outdoor lounge terrace. Guests can also look forward to outstanding culinary offerings.
