Heavy rainfall is set to hit the country today, with a chance of thunderstorms and spot flooding in some areas

As for the rest of the week, it looks like the rain is continuing over the weekend but things are thankfully looking up from Monday

Early on Saturday night, a weakening band of rain and drizzle will push eastwards over Ireland. It will be rather cloudy for a time on Sunday with a few light showers spreading from the west, before becoming sunnier later in the day.
