After years of community campaigning, real change is coming to the Alton Estate in Roehampton in the shape of a renewal plan.

Essex Police said 14 people have been charged in connection with protests at the site and there have been 23 arrests.

A peaceful protest has taken place outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Epping. Essex Police said a group of people protesting against The Bell Hotel in Epping formed at about 6pm on Thursday.
